Our Christian Distinctiveness

I Know Who I Am

"Before I formed you I knew you, before you were born I set you apart" Jeremiah 1:5

Our Christian vision and values are at our core and underpin life at Macaulay.

Our Vision

Nurturing Community

Every individual is uniquely and wonderfully created by God.

Holistic Growth

We celebrate and adapt to each child's holistic needs, inspiring them to fulfill their God-given potential.

Partnership

Together with families and the church, we equip our children with the attitudes, skills, and beliefs to engage thoughtfully in their wider communities.

Our Christian Values

Macaulay's values, rooted in Christian beliefs, are integral to life at Macaulay and guide our approach to teaching and learning and personal development.

Resilience

We teach pupils to face challenges with determination. "Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial..." (James 1:12).

Responsibility

Students learn accountability for their actions. "For we are each responsible for our own conduct" (Galatians 6:5).

Thankfulness

We foster gratitude and a supportive community. "Encourage one another and build one another up..." (1 Thessalonians 5:11).

Compassion

We encourage empathy and kindness. "Value others above yourselves" (Philippians 2:3).

Creativity

We inspire imaginative thinking and innovation. "For we are God’s handiwork..." (Ephesians 2:10).

[Macaulay holds] collective worship that strongly promotes and brings to life the school’s Christian values; that is relevant in today’s world and inspires pupils to believe in themselves and know they are special.

SIAMS Report, 2019

SIAMS Reports

Our distinctiveness and effectiveness as a Church of England school is inspected every 5 years with a Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS) report. Our most recent report was July 2019, when we achieved the highest grade of 'Excellent'. Prior to that inspection, we were awarded the highest grade of 'Outstanding' in July 2014.

The reports are a testament to the strong and committed community of staff, parents, governors and children that make up Macaulay.
